Coming up for auction this Easter is a wonderful porcelain vase in the shape of an Easter-egg bearing Imperial monogram MA for the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, née Danish Princess Dagmar. The vase was manufactured by The Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg, c. 1900 and probably given as Easter-Egg present according to orthodox tradition.
Traditional Easter greeting is Христос воскрес! (Christ is risen!) … and the response is Воистину воскрес! (In truth He is risen!)
