Our latest book release features articles commemorating the danish princess Dagmar – the Russian empress Maria Feodorovna – and the memorable moments and places in Denmark dearest to her heart:
– The double engagements to the granddukes Nicolas (1864) and Alexander (1866) at the Bernstorff and Fredensborg Palaces – The grand fête celebrated at her departure from Copenhagen at the Christiansborg Palace where over 1200 invited guests participated – the imperial villa belonging to her husband the Emperor Alexander III at Fredensborg Palace – and the weeks spent as a guest in her former childhood home, the Amalienborg Palace, both as Russian Empress, as dowager and as a refugee.
The book features several illlustrations, including original color sketches from the dinner service made especially for the Emperor Alexander III at his villa in Fredensborg. (136 pages, hardcover. Danish language)
