Amazing voice recording
Found in Danich archives, this amazing voice recording is not only very rare, but it tells us how the Danish princess Dagmar, later Empress Maria Feodorovna and her husband, the Emperor Aleksander III actually sounded like. The recording begins with Dagmar tellling us how happy she is to present her husband (the Emperor) actually singing a childish song. The song would have been politically explosive in the late 19th century, since it´ is very clearly about the German empire. At the end of this recording, the Empress is heard uttering in Danish “Det morer mig meget at høre min mands stemme” (I´ am greatly amused listening to my husbands voice) The illustration: Dagmar and her sister Alexandra, princess of Wales with the Emperor at their private apartments at Fredensborg Palace, Denmark.
